As of August 15, 2026, the latest summer content update for Honor of Kings has been quite intensive. As an average player who usually keeps an eye on the China server events and occasionally plays with friends, my most obvious feeling these past few days is that skins, crossover returns, limited-time modes, and welfare events have all arrived almost simultaneously.
If you are in China, you can just log in after the update to check out the events; however, for overseas Chinese and international students, what truly affects the experience is often not whether there are events, but whether the network is stable after entering the China server. Especially during ranked matches, peak tournaments, or five-player queues, a sudden spike in latency is far more frustrating than missing out on an event reward.
Below, I will discuss this in two parts: one is a brief look at the recent noteworthy content in Honor of Kings, and the other focuses on my recommendations for how overseas players can use the HiCN accelerator to optimize their China server network connection.
What has been updated in Honor of Kings recently? Plenty of skins, crossovers, and gameplay modes.
The content in this summer update is quite varied. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to study every single bundle; average players should just focus on the heroes they like and the crossover content.
Let's start with the skins, which are the most noticeable.
Su Lie's 'Critical Deduction' skin has been released after the update, featuring a scientific research and mecha style. With a white lab coat, mechanical prosthetic limbs, and light cyan tech-themed visual effects, it differs from Su Lie's previous, heavier skin styles.
This skin is of Brave quality and can be purchased with coupons or redeemed with skin fragments. For veteran players who have accumulated plenty of fragments, a skin that can be redeemed directly is quite friendly.

Baili Shouyue has received a new limited Legendary skin, 'Night Watcher'.
In terms of character design, this one leans towards a night watchman, falconer, and dark investigator theme, with an overall atmosphere that is colder and more stern than some of his previous skins. Players who like Baili Shouyue should pay close attention, especially those who frequently play in the development lane or enjoy the feel of playing as a sniper.

In addition to new skins, there will be a major return of the 'Fox Spirit Matchmaker' crossover content later on.
This includes content such as Gongsun Li's Tushan Rongrong, Gan Jiang & Mo Ye's Qianshan Gongfu, Shaosi Yuan's Tushan Honghong, and Dasi Ming's Dongfang Yuechu, which will return one after another. There will also be crossover sky-screens, minions, Yuanliu Child outfits, as well as voice packs, announcements, personalized pokes, and other resources.
If you missed this batch of crossover content before, keep an eye on the opening times for the corresponding events this time.

Furthermore, Di Renjie's 'Little Li's Flying Dagger' crossover skin will also be released later. This is a Gu Long-themed crossover, and the character's temperament fits Di Renjie quite well. For players who enjoy the martial arts style, it is one worth paying attention to in the near future.
The game isn't just updating skins, either.
Liu Bei has undergone a round of adjustments. The burst capability of his enhanced basic attacks at close range has been redesigned, and his projectile mechanism, mana consumption, and skill experience have also been optimized.
For players who enjoy jungling, these hero mechanism adjustments are often more worth noting than skin updates, as they can directly affect ranked match strength and operational rhythm for some time to come.
In addition, the 'Super Extreme Tide' mode, summer events, farm content, and the Lucky Draw have all received corresponding updates.
Overall, the China server is currently in a period of very dense content.
But if you are overseas like me and are preparing to log back in to play on the China server for a while, I suggest you don't rush into ranked matches until you've sorted out your network status.
Network tips for overseas players
For players located overseas, if you encounter high latency or ping spikes during team fights after entering the China server, it is recommended to use HiCN to optimize your network connection.
